Roger Smith is one of the rare independent watchmakers who makes his own movements, dials, cases and uniquely uses the Daniels Co-Axial escapement. Having apprenticed with the master Dr. Daniels, Roger has been making his own watches for over 15 years starting with a pocketwatch and then the original Series 1, which was only made in 10 or 11 examples. The Series 2 is Roger's first serially produced wristwatch with the Daniels Co-axial escapement.
Living and working on the Isle of Man, in the middle of the Irish Sea, he is also away from the Swiss industry and all that entails. Almost unique in that Roger has never worked in Switzerland, which gives him a perspective unlike most other current watchmakers, even if they live and work outside of Switzerland.
British watchmaking at it's finest, in the Daniels method of handmaking watches by mastering the 34 disciplines required. We invite you to discover Roger's superb work. Only 10-12 watches emerge from the workshop on the Isle of Man annually. They are highly sought after by aficionados of the Independent Watchmaking arts.
